Hi, I’m Kimber Moore, and I’m so excited to be part of the Tidal Trails community as Co-Founder and Head Teacher. I studied Human Development and Family Sciences at Virginia Tech and have been working with children for over 15 years, including 8 years as a preschool teacher. My journey began in both elementary and traditional preschool settings, but it was my transition into nature-based education that truly shaped my teaching philosophy.

I love outdoor learning because it creates a “yes” environment—one where children can explore freely, take safe risks, and follow their curiosity. It supports a wide range of learning styles and helps children build confidence, creativity, and a genuine love of learning. Through child-led, hands-on experiences, I’ve seen children grow not only academically, but socially and emotionally as well.

Building strong connections with families is also central to my work. Sharing in children’s discoveries helps create a meaningful bridge between home and school, allowing everyone to feel part of the learning journey.

At Tidal Trails, I’m most excited to help shape a program where children, families, and educators feel supported, inspired, and connected—and where every child has the space to truly thrive.
